The detached cottage was formerly two workmen's cottages, which were combined and sympathetically restored fifteen years ago. Plum Tree Cottage now provides comfortable Four Star self-catering holiday accommodation all year round for up to eight people. Children and dogs are welcome and there is a large enclosed garden where they can play safely.
Apart from its great location for visiting the area, Plum Tree Cottage also provides a comfortable home away from home, with a wide selection of books, TV, DVDs and games available for less sunny days. Built over 200 years ago of Purbeck stone, Plum Tree Cottage is full of charm and character, and retains many of its original features. The accommodation comprises two double bedrooms, two twin bedrooms, three bathrooms/shower rooms, a spacious lounge and separate dining room, a conservatory and a fully fitted kitchen overlooking the beautiful enclosed garden. (Click here to view a floor plan of Plum Tree Cottage - you will need Adobe Reader.) The cottage has central heating throughout in addition to the wood burning stove located in the lounge. It is comfortably furnished and equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, Wi-Fi, Digital TV with DVD/CD player and radio. Utilities, bedding and towels are included in the hire. There is off road parking and secure cycle storage. Local amenitiesPlum Tree Cottage is conveniently
located for other amenities to help you have an enjoyable and relaxing
holiday. If you are exhausted from your day out and don't feel like cooking,
there are a selection of places to eat virtually on the doorstep. There are a number of restaurants, cafes and pubs to choose from in Swanage town centre and more information is available at the cottage, along with some of our personal recommendations. At the bottom of Bell Street there is a Costcutters with Post Office which has a good butchers counter and selection of fresh produce, freshly baked bread and other basic supplies. In the centre of Swanage is a large Co-op supermarket and a Somerfields. There is a butcher near the library, selling locally reared produce, and a farmers' market every Tuesday throughout the Summer in the main beach car park. Full details of local amenities are provided at the cottage.
